The 2nd Half of August 2015 Recap

Wayne Dyer was a huge inspiration for having a positive mindset.  Wayne was a runner and he related a lot of life to endurance sports!  If you get the chance, pick up a Wayne Dyer book or book on tape, it will “Change the way you look at things, and then the things you look at will change” 

Big props to Without Limits Coach Sami Winter and our athlete Jenny Perrottet at the 2015 Ironman 70.3 world championships in Austria!  If you look at the pics, you will see Austria was no joke!  The course was tough
Jenny was 47th in her division W35-39 with a 5:27:56
Sami was 72nd in her division W45-49 with a 6:17:48

Congrats to our Marine Triathlete Alex Ryan for winning the Cherry Point Triathlon!  A good start to the fall season!

Allie Kassens  did her first multisport event an Aquathon (RUN SWIM RUN) – she was 2nd overall and 1st Female

Our very own Youth Coach Colin Hackman and running Guru, aka Mr. GO TIME!  Qualified for the Boston Marathon running 3:09!  Nice work training smart through the Summer in SE North Carolina

Awesome work Caroline Kratz at the Grand Fondo 100 miler placing 2nd female overall winning $150.00.  Not a bad day in the mountains!

Shannon Haggerty – back in the race saddle!! 🙂  First 5K back with a sub 33 min at the BFA Seatrail race!!

Mary Margaret – Maggie Valley Moonlight 8K – comeback PR with a 12th OA finish, and 1st in AG 🙂  Also Ran ] the High Country Half Marathon with 1500 feet of climbing in 1:52. She Got 5th overall behind four Boone girls all in their 20’s…and chopped 12 minutes off her time in the same race 2 years ago. She says “this great coaching is seriously working. WooHoo!!!”
Christine Bean ran her highest monthly mileage ever in August.  Then, she took off for Africa at the end of the month  to lend a loving heart and hand in Uganda for 2 weeks.
Eileen Gonzalez – 2nd in AG at the Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon, gearing up and getting ready for Augusta!

Lake Luray lived up to all expectations, and as the USAT Mid Atlantic Short Course Regional Championship, it brought out the best triathletes in the Mid-Atlantic region.   Congrats to Ren Rotondo on completing the Devil’s Double (both the Oly and the Sprint), and Harrison Brown finished 6th OA with a strong swim/run combo.  Some awesome flatlanders conquering the hills!  Coach Sami posted a Devil’s Double Podium placing 3rd OA Masters Female and then posting the USAT Mid Atlantic Short Course Regional AG Championship AG Win.
