Celia Wolff

aka, “Coach Celia”

The Low-Down on Celia Wolff

Celia has had swimming in her blood since she first had lessons as a 5 year old. She joined a swim team a few years later and hasn’t looked back.  Celia competed through high school and college where she represented Purdue University at NCAA Nationals on the 200 free relay. After college, she took a 20+ year break from competition but continued to teach and coach swimming as an age group coach.  In 2011, Celia came to her senses and realized the sweet spot was working with adults and established the Fort Bragg Masters swim team. In addition to recruiting triathletes and swimmers to join the team, Celia got back into the pool and began training and competing in US Masters Swimming both nationally and internationally.

Celia has a Broadcast Communications degree with a Physical Education minor.  She has put her degree to work recently on Facebook live as she commentates at many HAWK masters swim meets!

What Celia admires most in her athletes:

“I LOVE working with adults! These people are able to juggle their career, family and personal well-being while striving to better themselves and work outside of their comfort zone.  I get SO EXCITED when I see my swimmers make those changes in the water and reap the benefit of faster, more efficient swimming.”

Defining moment:

As a coach, Coaching and swimming at my first US Masters Nationals meet and having two of my swimmers win their events and reign as national champions.  As a swimmer, being part of the 4x200m free relay and winning the gold medal at World Masters Championships in 2014.

The best part about being a WOL Coach:

Celia loves being part of a unique and talented coaching team. WOL attracts people from beginning levels through elite athletes who are excited to learn, improve and be part of our team. She is committed to helping them on their journey.
