Beating the Heat & Race Heats in July

“If you set a goal for yourself and are able to achieve it, you have won your race. Your goal can be to come in first, to improve your performance, or just finish the race; it’s up to you.”  Dave Scott- 2007 Ironman World Champion

Our athletes are achieving peak performances this summer, tackling Triathlons, 10ks and 5ks. Even our Youth athletes are jumping in on the fun! Congratulations to everyone who raced, trained and cheered this early July.

7th Annual 4th of July Tri

“The 4th of July is a chance to celebrate America and celebrate our freedom.  Friends, the ability to exercise, laugh and so many more expressions of us are why we live in this great Nation.  Exercising is something we are free to do and it is better with friends.  Thank you to everyone who came and trained with me today and who challenges me to be a better Coach and person.  I look forward to seeing everyone at every practice.  Sooo much fun and thank you to the Without Limits Triathletes.  Hope everyone had an awesome morning and Onward and Upward to the next adventure. “ – Coach Sami

8th Annual Independence Day Run

“So….some may remember Mr. Bill Stinger from some Open Water swims last year.  At 70 years of age, he was training for the first Ironman NC.  Unfortunately, he suffered some bad luck while cycling and was forced to withdraw.  This year he is back and heading for the 70.3 at 71 years of age.  Tackling his first race of the season after once again having some bad automobile vibes on the bike, he ran an impressive 5K in hot and humid Myrtle Beach.  Now if we can just put him in a bubble for the next few months.  Mr. Bill reminds me of why I coach and of why I coach for Without Limits.  He is truly Without Limits and I absolutely cannot wait to see him cross that finish line in October.  Until then, Congrats on your 5K and there is PROMISE!  Now YOU are a Rockstar!!” -Coach Sami

Watermelon 5K

Congrats to Austin Rockstar, Caroline Bloom on her race, specifically her 20 sec 5K PR!!  In the heat and humidity of Florida she rolled through and got it done!!  Welcome her to practice next week as she makes her way to Wilmington, NC.  Hard work pays off Caroline.  Awesome job!

Alameda 4th of July 5K

Shay Hutchings proved that he still has speed while Ironman training. He busted out a sub 20 min 5K on the West Coast.  19:52 to be exact!!!  Now that’s a great way to have fun on the 4th!

Peachtree 10k

Karen Eckberg crushed her race at the Peachtree 10K getting a PR! Way to go… your hard work is paying off.

Rev3 Williamsburg Olympic

Congratulations to Lori Drake and Ryan Redd on an awesome day in Colonial Country.  With some awesome swims and strong bikes they came away with huge smiles and great things to say about Rev3!  Racing is fun and these 2 ladies know how to smile and live life to the fullest!  Nothing is better than that.

TriSpan 10K

Ahhh…nothing is ever “cool” about that race, except the smiles, the laughter, the grit and the determination.   Anna Malty, Lynda Smith and Michael Jones crossed that finish line running strong races in the heat!  Way to get it done.

Youth athletes Jamie Witmer and Erik Dahlgren took 1st and 2nd respectively.  Kyle Shepard had a good tempo run and David McBride tackled his first 5K in a while and did great.  Josh Adams took 3rd in the 5K and Marilyn Malanaphy and Katie Elzer-Peters both ran strong races.

XTERRA Whitewater

Kelly White secured 2nd place! Way to go!

MOAR XC Lake Crabtree Mountain Bike Race

Bud Woodrum took 2nd place single speed division. So impressive and so fun!
