Anyone else finding it difficult to get out the door to run without races on the schedule? This is a better time than ever to reflect on why we run. If you list out the reasons you started running, or why you’ve decided to keep running, I bet that racing is just one of many. We will race again, but in the meantime we can be grateful to get outside to move - not everybody gets to do that. Thanks @crbai for the insight.

March 2020 will forever be etched in our memories. Over the course of the last fourteen days, our global community came to a grinding halt. There are a number of different personal responses, to include, denial, panic, and hopelessness against the backdrop of something that we collectively do not have a firm grasp or understand. I have taken a moment to reflect on what this experience means to me during a period that Winston Churchill aptly phrased as the “end of the beginning.” https://www.iamwithoutlimits.com/one-marines-perspective-reflection-on-readiness/

A great #IAMWITHOUTLIMITS. Story
Today I chased a goal. A goal of a 4 hour marathon. It was so windy and by mile 15 I was just so done. It took so much energy to fight that wind and stay on pace but I knew that there was a turnaround coming and the wind would be at my back. The turnaround came at mile 18. It was 10+ miles of wind.
Miles 24-26 were probably the hardest miles I’ve ever run. My legs were burning and I desperately wanted to stop but just kept reminding myself that I was stronger than the mile.
I crossed the finish line in 3:58:51...over a minute under my goal time and an 10+ minute PR. I was exhausted and left every once of energy on the course. Today I fought the wind and won! Today I became a sub 4-hour marathoner!

Congrats to so many of you this weekend who raced beyond Atlanta. A big observation that I can share with you from a coaches perspective.
THE FASTEST RUNNERS IN THE U.S. SUFFER LIKE EVERYONE. It is not easy for them. They battle injuries, they drop out, the wind is bad for them, the hills are brutal for them, they get caught alone when they fall off the packs, they walk during the race, some barely make it to the line.
So how can even the top 10% of the top 1% not nail it every time?
Because distance running (and multisport) is HARD for everyone. We are always challenged with our sport. You cannot explain to someone else how it felt either. The only people who know are the ones that suffered with you.
Just like different stages of life, there are different stages of endurance sports. Experience each stage, because they will all humble you in some fashion.
We were small fish in a HUGE pond this weekend, that is awesome.....we put ourselves out there and I am so proud of everyone.
Don't fear the stage you sign up for, its just like life.....when you take a chance, you rarely will regret it.
I read about so many favorites that didn't have their day. Another day will come for you to perform and get that success once again.
Pictured above is Jacob Riley....took a chance and had an amazing 2nd overall finish..... and 43 year old Abdi Abdirahman right behind him. Abdi was hurt in 2016, he took another chance and nailed it.
@bygolly.molly shocked everyone with an incredible race. @galenruppofficial came back after a long spell of injuries and impressed everyone.
KEEP TAKING CHANCES. As I write this, I am speaking to myself too.

Three exceptional @iamwithoutlimits ladies qualified for the @usaolympictrials.
We are proud of all of our athletes at Without Limits. There is no question that TEAM and SUFFERING TOGETHER is the reason for success. Every day, we see regular people, husbands, wives, business owners, beginners, nurses, doctors, teachers, people who grew up foreign to running GET OUT THERE AND TRY! These ladies all started by TRYING and putting themselves and their goals publicly out there. If you are afraid of your goal, know that it might just be worth setting. You can’t put a timeline on it, just keep seeking it! Why not….you create your own reality of what you want to do. Ask God for guidance and strength and to give you the wisdom to take the right paths on your journey. If you do this…… You are WITHOUT LIMITS!
