A Speedy June for Wilmington Athletes

You know you are a RUNNER when, in the summer, your tan lines are from your WOL racing singlets and tanks… NOT your bathing suits.

KANZA 200
Bud woodrum placed 8th overall with single speed in one of the most grueling gravel grinders in the world.  214 miles. He even found time for a photo-op! Great job and great photo Bud.

ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ
Congrats to Coach Wisty who placed 8th overall and had a great race.
Congrats to Mark Austin and Anna Maltby for being ESCAPEES, and for also having great races. Way to represent WOL in the west team!

BRIDGE TO BRIDGE RUN
B2B is always a fun and challenging race and the WOL team showed up and raced strong! Congratulations to Kyle Shepard, Janet Colman, Ned Glascock, Anthony Enoch and Chris B. Great races by all.

RALEIGH 70.3 IRONMAN
Coach Aaron Kolk had a great race and placed 2nd in his age group, way to represent! He was in great company with fellow athletes Jack Carroll, Walt Greet (who came back for more after Chatty), Father Richard Sutter, Ryan Redd (swim/bike), Jamie Ash (Swim/bike) and Charlie Jackson. Great job and awesome finishes by these rock star athletes.

RALEIGH 13.1
Anthony Running Alpha Enoch conquered the Raleigh, NC Race. Congrats to YO ANTHONY ENOCH!

THE BIG RUN
Level 1 swept the podium in the 60-69 AG! Way to go ladies, you sure are getting fast! Among them were Janet Colman 2nd place AG, Tricia Bennett 3rd place AG, Chris B 1st place AG, Luciana Wilson, Becky McGhee and Andrea Milman. Congratulation to all of the level 1 athletes for beating the heat and having a great race.

COMRADS MARATHON
Congrats to Charles Buckland! He finished the Comrades Marathon (56 miles) very strong! His hard work and many miles paid off! This was #10 for him. Get going, you are WITHOUT LIMITS.

EAGLEMAN
Congrats to Josh Bautz – despite not being able to swim for nearly 6 weeks, he still had a great race and a great swim by doing stretch cords and believing in the plan.

There were a lot of piggy trophies that came back to Wilmington! Way to go team.

GRANDMA’S MARATHON
Congrats Michael Enz who completed his 23rd marathon, 13th State and 11th consecutive year of having a Boston Marathon Qualifying time. You are a rock star and there are no limits for your continued growth.

BLUEBERRY FEST 5K

ARIZONA SPRINT DISTANCE TRIATHLON
Congrats to Michelle Bonathan for taking 10 minutes off her sprint distance triathlon and winning 1st in AG.

GLACIER HALF MARATHON
Elizabeth Allen had a great race given the very tough conditions with high elevation, steep grade hills, head-wind, sleet and constant rain. Fought through it and finished. Training continues as she works towards other big goals. You proved you are WITHOUT LIMITS and can conquer anything, way to go.

CAROLINA BEACH DOUBLE SPRINT
Without Limits had a great turnout and podium finishes at the CBDS. Andrea Milman had a huge PR and took 12 minutes off her bike time, congratulations! Jennifer Barker placed 3rd in AG after completing a hard brick workout the day before! Massimo Crudeli is training smart and finished strong, way to go.

BLOOD SWEAT AND GEARS 50 MILER
John Cockrum and Matt Henrie both had great races. It was a good location, with good friends, and good times.  Nice work!
